Projects large and small

Standard

Fabric’s flying, machines are whirring, and conversations are lively. There’s definitely a buzz in the air at The Bee.

We’re testing ideas and patterns and whipping up samples. So far we’ve seen Kindle covers, mini purses, placemat sets, multi-use pouches, tea wallets, garlands, aprons and more.

We’ll continue to build inventory of smaller pieces but are also excited to announce our first large-scale project: a quilt to be donated to a local charity for their upcoming Jazz & Jeans fundraising event.

Even if you’ve never taken needle and thread in hand, you can be part of the creation of this quilt. Last evening we began pulling fabric from our stash and sketching the improvisational original design. Next week the cutting and piecing will begin, so come on in. There will be some way to participate for people of every skill level. No time like the present to learn something new and help a good cause.

Meanwhile, check out more photos on our Flickr page of recent items created by hive members.
