Our first major Make It 2 Give It project was a quilt we donated to Bell Family Shelter to be auctioned at their Jazz & Jeans event November 18, 2011.
In early September, we drafted an outline for an original, jazz-inspired design and began pulling together fabric from our donated inventory.
By October, cutting and piecing was finished; just after Halloween, we put on a mighty push to (first) pin it and (then) tie knots in a swirly pattern, mimicking the design elements, thanks to the help of about a dozen pair of hands. One week before the event, the binding was attached and the queen-sized comforter was ready.
Sale of the quilt raised $200 to benefit homeless York County families.
